ABOUT ME

In many Asian cultures including Cantonese, the surname, Ng, typically goes before the first name, 

Ka-wing, which is the pinyin of Kevin's Chinese name. That is what the site is named after; to both honor and serve as a reminder of his roots.

Born in Hong Kong and based in the Pacific Northwest, Kevin inherited his love and appreciation for the outdoors from his parents at an early age.  His penchant for adventure has led him to explore some of the world's most exotic natural beauties the past 10 years.  Whether it's human-powered or motorized traveling, he believes we all have a responsibility, as temporary inhabitants on this planet, to tread lightly and attempt to leave Earth a little bit better than how we found it.

When Kevin's not working as an engineer or embarking on epic adventures, you will likely find him in the local trails of Portland, OR or at a food truck for a post-adventure chow down.
